Garmin Topo Maps of Canada or the Free Alternative?

It has to be said that Garmin’s topo maps of Germany in particular are really convincing. In my view, the ones of Canada are not. Since I am currently looking into maps for my upcoming holiday in Canada, I am very disappointed.

After all, the maps cost a fair bit of money (recommended retail price: €169.00), and in all the areas (Jasper National Park, Banff National Park etc.) where I compared the official maps with the free topo maps, the free ones are considerably better. So if you want to get topo maps for Canada, you should first try whether “Ibycus Topo” doesn’t already offer exactly what you are looking for.

Shame about the money – I’d rather take the free ones along…
