You just want to quickly collect the stamp at the Hamburger Wappen without covering an unnecessary number of kilometres? Then I recommend parking the car right in Timmenrode. However, it was quite busy there when I visited – apparently many people have the same idea.
To be honest, I would advise against visiting the Hamburger Wappen only by the shortest route. A longer tour, for example from Blankenburg or via the Teufelsmauerstieg, is the far better choice in my view.
The way there follows an easy, well-maintained path. If you don’t feel entirely confident when hiking, you can use this path for the way back as well. For the return, however, I chose an alternative route that makes no great difference in length but could be somewhat harder to walk.
