This time I went to all the stamp sites around Friedrichsbrunn that I was still missing for #HWN2024 – and to be honest, that was all of them.

Stamp points on the hike

  • 57 Echo meadow Allrode
  • 184 Bear monument
  • 189 Great Devil’s Mill
  • 190 Bergrat Müller pond
  • 191 Laubtal view
  • 196 Bremer pond

You can park your car directly in front of the spa gardens in Friedrichsbrunn. From there, after a short crossing of the village, the route leads directly to stamp point 57, Echowiese Allrode. After a short one-way section, we take a different route back towards Friedrichsbrunn. All the stamping points that we are still missing are to the south or south-east of Friedrichsbrunn.

Unfortunately, most of the hike is on wide, gravel forest paths. However, the short section to Laubtalblick with its small path is something I remember positively. What I also remember? The bench there, which in my opinion is even more impressive than the view.

The trail continues to the Bergrat Müller pond, past a vacation park, and then on to the Große Teufelsmühle, an impressive rock formation that is not really a mill. A small trail then follows downhill to the bear memorial, which commemorates the fact that the last bear in the Harz Mountains was probably shot here.

From there, it’s on to Bremer Teich, where there is a campsite and a bathing pond that appears to be chargeable. The last few kilometers back to the car are quite uneventful and stemless. I only really enjoyed the last ascent past the purple flowering meadow.
