The trail can be easily reached directly from the campsite and leads through a stony desert landscape directly to an oasis. The way to the oasis is about 2.4 km long. There are no major climbs, but the path is quite stony, so you should be careful where you step. It is not recommended to walk the trail in the midday heat and especially not in the summer, because it can get really hot at that time in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Another good reason are the other visitors of the park, which you will meet more and more the later it gets.

If you have arrived at the oasis and still haven’t had enough, you can continue through the canyon. Here, however, the path becomes a little more challenging and is also no longer signposted. Only the one or other pile of stones helps with orientation. There is no special end point on the way, so it is up to you how far you want to go, but you must not forget that you have to go the whole way back.

If you don’t stay at the campsite, you can park directly in front of the trail.
