The hike starts at a public parking lot in the small village of Mazirbe. From there, you take a small detour past a boat cemetery directly to the beach and walk along the coast for around 3 km.
We then return to the forest and follow the Baltic Coastal Trail for 3 km back to the car. This part is beautifully wooded and follows an easy wide path past some expensive luxury tourist accommodation.
Along the way you will find blueberries and cranberries as well as some outrageously pretty mushrooms, most of which are not edible, but as far as I know, picking mushrooms and berries for personal use is allowed. However, I would advise everyone to find out more on the spot.
