Themed hike “Man and forest”: From Hahnenklee to Goslar

Today we are taking you on the themed hike “Man and Forest” from Hahnenklee to Goslar! We left our car in Goslar and then took the bus to Hahnenklee. This works pretty well and makes the hike, which isn’t too long anyway, a bit easier because it’s actually only downhill from Hahnenklee to Goslar. The hike starts at the same parking lot as the better-known Liebesbankweg. If you’re already there, it makes sense to stop by the stave church again if you haven’t seen it yet.

The path is well marked with symbols of women planting trees. This is a reference to the Kulturfrauen, who were effectively the women who cleared the forest. They reforested the whole area after the Second World War. You can find out more about this and many other interesting things on the signs along the way. Kathi’s real highlight on the hike were all the raspberries and blueberries that you could snack on along the way. And I can reassure you, she left plenty for you! Once we had left Hahnenklee behind us, we arrived at my real highlight. I spent the rest of the time getting a little too close to the insects.

At some point, we turned off onto the old Harz road. From there you are almost back in Goslar. Here, thanks to the bark beetle, you always have an outstanding view of the Granetalsperre. And then you arrive at the Steinberg playground. If you’re out and about with children, you’ll probably spend quite a while here. If you then have an incredible view of Goslar, you have probably arrived at the Steinbergalm. You can enjoy a cold beer there.

And then it’s actually just across the meadow and another great view of Goslar to the Frankenbergteich, where our hike ends.
