This is a 19 km one way trip across the Superstition Mountains. It is not a hiking trail that is maintained. It is oriented by small stone towers and a good eye for trails. The trail ends or begins at the campground in Lost Dutchman State Park. If you want to walk this trail, you will need to find someone to take you to the starting point. Unfortunately, as is often the case in the U.S., there is no public transportation.

If you have the possibility to be driven to the starting point, you should definitely take advantage of it. The tour was my personal hiking highlight during my last vacation in the USA. I like the landscape very much, the path is somewhat demanding and also does not run flat over the mountains, but in a constant up and down.

What you should not forget in any case, is a good sunscreen, because shade or trees you are looking here mostly in vain. With appropriate temperatures must be provided of course also for sufficient water, because on the way refill is not possible.

On the last meters to the campsite, the path is the most demanding, so you have to scramble a little on the descent, which. The place from the top picture is an easy section.
